Anyway You Cut It

oil on canvas

Things have been very hectic these past few months so my apologies for not getting a chance to make new posts.  Lately I have been working in a gallery setting and haven’t been able to paint as much as I’d like.  Painting was the entire reason that I began to make art in the first place.  In the spring I was more focused on collage but it was nice to get back to what I know best.  This piece began as an old collage I made about five years ago, which I then began to paint over.  The painted shapes come from a 3d paper abstract model that I made to help me create interesting dimensions.  I’m not sure if this piece is finished yet.  I’ll probably make a few more changes to it before calling it quits for a while.   For now I’m looking at it as an interesting experiment of revisiting past projects.  So far this experiment has really gotten me back at my easel.
