Found this new artist/designer today named Mika Barr. Their work consists of foldable fabric, think pillows, etc. It’s kindof amazing. For more images and information visit the website: http://mikabarr.com/pages/page_1.aspx?line=Geo
My latest painting titled Casa Del Lago was recently on display in the Meyers Gallery at the University of Cincinnati. I’ll be deinstalling it at the beginning of this week.
Claire Sherman is an American painter living in NYC. I’m attracted to her abstraction of the natural world (dirt, boulders, holes, etc.) and the paintings compositionally are very striking.
I found this artist Catherine Ulitsky. I particularly enjoyed her photos of flocks of starling birds on which she painted geometric shapes. In her statement she says that she wants to show the flock as a “faceted geometric shape”, something that I can certainly appreciate. Check out the link below to go to her website and view more of these wonderful photographs.
I’m back from break and I’ve been working on finishing my most recent painting. The first image is the full composition and the second is a detail picture. I’ve been struggling getting the right ratio of matte and gloss finish with the shapes that are layered.
